The route total includes 6075m of climbing and 6415m of descent, however the event is all about the experience and riders will be seeded into groups based on a pace that they are comfortable with.

Route – Day 1

Driekuilen to Komdomo Campsite

After spending the night on a private game farm enjoying the stillness of the Springbokvlakte you will be ready to take on Day 1.

Summiting Cockscomb Peak by lunchtime your legs will enjoy the afternoon downhill via 4×4 tracks and various technical sections into Patensie to camp alongside the Kouga River.

Route – Day 2

Komdomo Campsite to Doringkloof Campsite

Things get serious on Day 2, the toughest day, as you climb steadily through the phenomenal Baviaans Poort.

The beauty of the scenery will numb your legs and push you through to a rewarding swim at your lunch time break.

Push on for an even more rewarding swim and late afternoon chilling on the grassy banks of an awesome private dam and campsite.

Route – Day 3

Doringkloof Campsite to Kouga View Game Farm

The climbing is not over as Day 3 takes you out of the Baviaanskloof past the remarkable “Seven Dwarfs” rock formations, your legs will breathe a sigh of relief as you descend all the way down into yet an- other private game farm with its own pool and awesome boma.

Route – Day 4

Kouga View Game Farm to Outeniqua Trout Farm

A day for some recovery, Day 4 winds down into Uniondale via some pristine single track for lunch and then on to De Vlugt along a portion of the famous Karoo to Coast Route.

The prospect of a sneaky stop at Angie’s G spot will have you craving a beer. A relaxing river swim and the picturesque campsite will get you revved up for the last day.

Route – Day 5

Outeniqua Trout Farm to the Hunters Lodge in Plettenberg Bay

No drawn out endings here as the short and sweet Day 5 climbs out of the valley and onto Plett’s Uplands. The awe-inspiring homeward stretch through magnificent indigenous forest emerges to spectacular sea views and a cruise into Plett. The Tour ends on the 28th October (around midday) at Hunters Country Lodge with a lunch and farewell.
